Dear Friends of East Greenwich Pleasaunce,
I’m very pleased to announce that following our AGM on Thursday 14 June we have elected a new chair: Kirsty Black (kirstylblack@gmail.com).
The Friends ended the 2011/2012 year with £3,600 in the bank, a healthy rising membership and a park that’s being looked after better than ever.
Our Lovely Jubbly picnic was a big success (we made a profit, c. 500 people came, and the rain held off).
The Bridge (formerly The One O’Clock Club), a not-for-profit community interest company chaired by Eve Daniels, is very close to signing a lease with the Council to allow it to become the thriving, inclusive
community hub it always had the potential to become.
I hope you all give it your full support.
I would like to give special thanks to our outgoing secretary and events director, Kate Powling, for all her hard work over the last six years. Without her effort and tenacity few of the events in the park
would’ve taken place.
The newly elected committee is as follows:
Chair: Kirsty Black
Treasurer: Matt Hall
Secretary: Rob Whiley
Membership secretary: Sue Gay
General committee: Steve Brain, Christine Braybrooke, Lizzie Cooper, Tony McTurk, Matt Rubery, Jon Thorn, Angie Whiley.
As the outgoing chair, I wish Kirsty and the new committee all the very best for the future. The Pleasaunce is in safe hands.
Best wishes,
Matthew
