Santa gave his reindeer a rest on Sunday 3rd December and arrived at East Greenwich Pleasaunce in a snazzy red sports car.
Much to the delight of the local children, Santa roared into the Pleasaunce with a cheery wave and ringing a bell.
He had such a lovely time meeting all the boys and girls in his grotto he wrote us a special letter to say so. We publish it below - just click on the image to enlarge.
An amazing 350 to 400 people came to our Friends Carol Service in the Park on Sunday afternoon and tucked into the mulled wine, mince pies, and other refreshments with great gusto. Overwhelmed by the demand we ran out of mulled wine rather early, for which, apologies. We'll know better next time!
The gathered throng braved the cold and lustily joined in the carols which were ably led by our visiting male choir, resplendent in their Victorian costumes. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
The funds raised will go towards future Friends of East Greenwich Pleasaunce events.
A big 'thanks' to all who supported the event, in particular to our sponsors:
John Payne Estate Agents
The Vanbrugh

and to the companies who generously donated raffle prizes:
