Santa Claus arrived at East Greenwich Pleasaunce by rickshaw on Sunday 5th December for the annual 'Carols in the Pleasaunce' event, perhaps reflecting the current era of austerity. In previous years he's arrived by Harley Davidson, jazzed-up Mini Cooper and open-topped sports car.
The snow that had threatened to scupper things completely miraculously melted away by Sunday morning allowing the slimmed-down event to go ahead. The carols were ably led by the Halstow Community Choir and the Friends of East Greenwich Pleasaunce provided gallons of mulled wine, teas, coffees and hot chocolates. A good time was had by all.
