Green-fingered volunteers from Transition Westcombe and The Friends of East Greenwich Pleasaunce dug, planted and staked six new fruit trees on Sunday 8th January.
The new additions - varieties of plum and apple - bring the total number of trees in the Pleasaunce Memorial Orchard to 12.
Many thanks to The London Orchard project for providing the trees and expertise in how to prepare the ground and erect the protective cages. Thanks also to Greenwich Parks for giving the go-ahead and providing copious quantities of mulch.
An impressive effort saw the six trees planted into two hours. Well done everyone.
