Notice of Annual General Meeting

The Friends of East Greenwich Pleasaunce warmly invite you to attend our

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

on

WEDNESDAY 22nd APRIL at 8pm

at

CHRIST CHURCH

TRAFALGAR ROAD

(NEXT TO THE FORUM)

 

As some of our Committee members have served for three years they will be standing down at this AGM, so we would really appreciate some new people coming forward either to take up one of the executive posts e.g. Secretary, or to join the Committee.

Friends groups like ours succeed or fail on the willingness of local people to get involved. I hope you agree that the Friends of East Greenwich Pleasaunce Committee has done a fantastic job so far in raising the profile of the Park, securing improved levels of  Council maintenance and support, and organising and running events that have proved massively popular with local residents.

We would like to build upon this success. But we need more residents to become involved - either in an official or unofficial capacity - and share your expertise and energy, particularly in the field of fundraising.

If you think you might be interested in standing for election to the Committee, or you just want to help out in some way, I would be grateful if you could email ([email protected]) or ring me (07941 315256) in advance of the AGM next week. Thanks very much.

Pleasaunce Photo Competition

The Pleasaunce Photo Competition is now closed to new entries. A selection of the photos will be displayed on this website shortly.

It would be really helpful if all those who entered using digital cameras could email their entries to me, Matthew Wall, at mtpwall AT o2.co.uk. Otherwise I will have to rescan your prints and the quality might suffer.

The winner will be announced during our Carols in the Park event currently scheduled for Sunday 7th December (2pm to 4pm).

Warning about being locked in the Pleasaunce

On two occasions recently people have been locked in the Pleasaunce.

Please can we warn you to look out for the van locking up mid-afternoon. The park is being shut early at the moment - it could come any time after 3pm.

The Council promises it is working on plans to keep the Park open for longer in the winter.

What to do if you find yourself locked in

Call Greenwich Council's Parks & Open Spaces department on 020 8921 4661.

If you don't have a phone with you try contacting the staff at Teddies nursery by the Chevening Road exit.

Annual General Meeting Update

Please note that the Friends AGM (click here for details) will now be held in the Lovell Room of the Forum, not the Piper Room as originally advertised.
